Funny. I just pulled out Ys the other day after a long while. It was still so very good. And am I wrong, or was it oddly overlooked when it came time to make Best of the Decade lists?
This stuff was never my taste, no matter how hard I tried (sorry, BW). But after streaming “The Good Intentions Paving Company” online, I am a believer. It took me to a completely unguarded place, musically–like the early 70s folk songs I loved as a kid, and I mean that in the best possible way. Like Mom playing Joni Mitchell records while I make salt-water dough sculptures on the floor, feeling the songs settle into my subconscious. Does that make any sense? No? Oh, well.
Anyone want to join me in dc on march 22 for her concert? i can hardly breathe.

Here’s a cool interview.
Love her.
And Rachel, yes, that makes complete sense.
