I think it IS thought-provoking– if this is not photo-shopped, did the guy stand on top of this thing and then jump? Did he somehow jump off a platform that’s just out of this shot and then narrow the spread of his legs? Maybe he got dropped from above, or maybe there’s a trampoline hidden behind the sod roll.
Or maybe it was photo-shopped. Does it have any meaning or is it trying to convey a message? Or is it just cool? It looks like something that would be on the front or the back of an album, photo or music. Where else would this picture appear and look fitting? In an advertisement?
And if it wasn’t photo-shopped, what happened to the guy right after this picture was taken? Did he land safely on the ground or on the hidden trampoline? Did he land in the splits on the sod roll and then fall onto the ground, (or some other sort of physical comedy) causing the photographer and his crew to go into hysterical laughter?
Puts me in mind of Terrence Malick’s Days of Heaven for about 2.5 reasons.
Aha, so now we know something about how Lane finds his photo inspiration. And that is always thought provoking.
what the half reason?
what’S the half reason?
The photo is in black and white and Days of Heaven feels like it is but isn’t.
Looks photoshopped.
Reminds me of this and this.

Based on the guy’s appearance, is he Amish?

You know, the third image that comes up when searching “thought provoking” is from the DC tagger BORF. Liked that better.
oh, very interesting. . .
