Green mountains turn white

Swells and I are enjoying a week in southern Vermont.  We went on a stroll through the forest yesterday, and were amazed by the GREENS:

And if things weren’t wonderful enough, five inches of pure white brilliance blanketed the area this morning:

Beautiful photos. My wife who is an artist, taught me years ago about the multitude of differing shades of green in the forest…

    Happy New Year to all.

Thanks for these beautimous photos! The third one looks like a moss waterfall. A mosserfall, if you will.

    Happy New Year to all!

Wow – that looks so…tropical! I love the water droplets hanging on the ends of the pine(?) branches. So bucolic. When I think of Vermont in the winter I automatically picture snow and bitter cold – who knew it could be so green! Wish we were there! Happy New Year!

Gorgeous. The tree in front of the mosserfall looks like ten different lichens on a beer stein… a lichtenstein, if you will.
