Friends, please click through on the link – there are some fabulous portraits of people we love.

How do you get to the rest of the Dan Deacon photos? Or is this the only one? This is obviously an all-ages show … look how cherubic the crowd is!

  3. Dave says:

Love this photo and the potraits at the link.

It’s one of my great regrets that I haven’t yet seen Dan Deacon perform.

Leon took a few pictures at the show, but this one really stood out. Swells and I are lucky enough to have a print of it on our dining room wall. The positive energy it exudes is undeniable.

I highly recommend clicking on the link to Leon’s site, and I especially recommend following the blog link — he adds a new photo every day.

Dave, I’m sorry that I took the tiger by the tail, and decided to post a photo today; I just thought, “what the heck.”

  5. Dave says:

Why are you sorry for making us all a little happier, Scotty?

I wanted to say thanks to The Great Whatsit community and scott in particular for including me today. This photo of “the kids” is one of my personal favorites. I reminds me of the joy and exuberance of being young.

I don’t have any other photos posted of the Dan Deacon show on my site. Although I did take other wonderful ones similar to this. But none of DD. This moment was all about these kids for me.

Hard to believe this was posted here two years ago! I’m not even sure if I’d lodged a first tentative comment at that point.

Oh, GA, you are so young and naive . . . if only you’d known the great Bryan Waterman in his heyday on TGW. Perhaps someday you will be in the same room together.

  9. swells says:

And thanks for linking to Bryan’s post–I’d forgotten how great this sounds. It sounds just like that photo looks!

  10. goy ahoy says:

But how do you know I’ve not already been in the same room with him, swells? I don’t recall ever saying how I came to be here. I could out myself as a former student, and claim to have sat through countless lectures, but I’d like to keep it a little more mysterious. So maybe I am and maybe I’m not. Maybe I come here via another contributor. Rest assured, though, I’m not one of YOUR former students, though I’m sure some of those must be lurking here too.

I did remember that there had been some previous Dan Deacon business on this site, and the helpful search function assisted me in finding it. I’m pretty sure I was reading TGW when that one was originally published.

That picture makes me think back on all the shows I’ve been to over the years, and it kind of makes me sad, because I doubt I’ve ever been to one where everybody was smiling with such obvious enthusiasm.

Apparently it’s not cool to look happy at Death Metal shows.
