Thanks for posting this, Lane. There’s a bit near the end of the second Soul Train interview that’s absolutely devastating. Also, by the time you get to a few recognizable singles (to me, at least) they are so wholly recontextualized that it’s almost as if I’d never heard them before.
yeah it’s cool huh? props to waterman for sending it to me. those interviews are amazing. could a little kid like michael even be formed in today’s world? his little voice in that one clip is so feminine. the media swirl around a performer like that would be so different now.
and poor liza, god, she just sounds crazy.
