Well, we’ve made it nearly another year with this thing, which means it’s time for some self-congratulation, some self-doubt, a little self-loathing, and, of course, another round of Whatsies.
For the Whatsies this year, we’re inviting anyone who reads the site to send in a paragraph or more about the highlights of the past year on the site, as you see them. Posts, comments, illustrations, whatever. The important thing is to talk a bit about why the moments you nominate were great or notable. Ideally, we’d like to be able to string these submissions together into a post with fairly light editing, attributing them to their authors and giving a sense of the personalities of the people who read the site.
The other important thing is to include links to what you’re talking about. Each post has a permanent link (“permalink” in blog jargon), and each comment also has a permalink that you can get by clicking the timestamp next to it.
So please, contributors, commenters, and lurkers, send us your Whatsie nominations as brief writeups. Email to editor at greatwhatsit dot com. The deadline is two weeks from today — January 12.
Also related to the three-year anniversary, I can report that BIG CHANGES are afoot for the site, EXCITING changes, that we will share with everyone as soon as they are ready.

Woo-hoo! Pr0n!
Change is good- as long as you don’t change the green talking dick-head logo…
Ooooh! Ch-ch-changes! Thrilling.
Really, seriously people, send in your writeups. We need your help here.
I love deadlines.
