Enjoy the season

I don’t know, I liked this a lot, and maybe it cuts the treacle a bit:

this is not the most holiday friendly comment but i wanted to note pinter’s passing. he was one of my all-time favorites, his scripts and films with losey being a real highlight along with the canonical plays.

an odd detail-i know they write these things ahead of time but the nyt obit is co-written by a man named gussow…who died in 2005.

pinter would have smiled at that.

Yes, R.I.P. Harold Pinter and the dead obituarist, and Merry Christmas to everyone.

and to the point of the post

    EEAKKK!.. Obama my man!

Clintonian triagualtion! With all that “don’t ask don’t tell” shit! too fresh on the memory!

    Don’t do it dude!

    Dump Warren!

And, of course, Merry Christmas everyone! Jesus was a radial hippie!

  5. J-man says:

Yeah, is Obama really thinking that he can “bring us all together” with this choice? Seems bizarre.

  6. Jane says:

    Happy Christmas, everyone.

During grad school, I worked as a valet at an extended-stay hotel in downtown Chicago. Ms. Kitt was one of our guests while she did a one-woman show about Billie Holiday. Every morning she’d come downstairs to the lobby in a dressing gown, a do-rag, and no makeup. With her she had three little yippy dogs, and the four of them would enjoy a leisurely breakfast. In that getup, she looked tiny and unremarkable–a perfect disguise! None of the other guests ever recognized they were in the presence of greatness.

Several times a day we’d have to deliver flowers up to her room, and she tipped hansomely every time. Classy lady, and a total badass for the ages.

    s/b handsomely. (sorry, Ruben!)

Is it just me, or is Rachel Maddow the coolest EVER? I mean, she’s so even-keeled, with just the right amount of humor to temper that enormous intellect. Seriously, I want to be her. And I am just getting started.

  13. jeffy says:

I am so over Obama. Ugh.

  14. 13. Yes, Ginny, Rachel is actually pretty great! Thanks for posting, Dave, and sorry for my absence! Obama has made some seriously questionable choices (like Warren) which should remind us all that the ‘Change that is us’ needs to keep holding Obama’s feet to the fire.
