Songs for a super kick-ass Fall

Songs for a super kick-ass Fall from seroquel on 8tracks Radio.

It happened again. Another mix from Farrell Fawcett. Not much to say except that there are a surprising number of danceable songs on here. What does that mean? I don't know. That I still love to shake it? For sure. Absolutely! In fact, why don't we all go do that together again soon. Until then, a little explanation about these songs. They all came into my life sometime between July and September (although a couple of them are quite old songs I've happily just re-encountered). I know those are summer months, but I just kept playing all these little blessings well into October. So they're my Fall songs now. They cover a really broad spectrum of sound. So there's bound to be something here that you will totally love. Let me know when you find it. Kisses!

Haven’t listened yet, but excited to do so soon! Until then, these observations two make I. Little River Band…bold selection, and I love it! Also, what is uup with doubled lletters in baand nammes these days? It’s the crystal or wolf of 3 or 4 years ago.

  2. Bryan says:

I’d like to hear Destroyer cover the Little River Band song. And maybe Arcade Fire do the Thunderclap Newman? Fun mix, as usual. We have a version of it in the car now.

LIstening while grading in my office, I just laughed out loud to hear the opening notes of “Reminiscing.” Oh Farrell.

“We yelled and screamed for more….”

Farrell, I don’t know how you do this every time! You are like an intergalactic music tour guide. I haven’t heard of most of the artists on this list, and I LOVE the music. Thanks for enriching my listening once again. xxx

    awesome rad awesome

  7. Farrell Fawcett says:

Tim, yes, the double letters are totally today’s crystal and wolf trend. And add to that the all caps and no vowels trend (SBTRKT, CHVRCHS, TMRW, DRGN KING…) Ugh, GTTN RLY SCK LRDY!!! HLP!!

Bryan, I feel like the Little River Band song was like crib notes/aerial maps when Dan Bejar was recording Kaput. I feel like many of his songs borrowed respectfully from this song’s formula. I love songs that do this–mellow and meandering and ending up in a horns section along the way. Who else besides Destroyer is doing it these days?

Oh, and I realized while playing through 8tracks that the uploading can corrupt and distort the sound quality significantly. If you like a song, be sure to download the song from my Divshare link above, or find a better quality version elsewhere. Sorry.

  8. Dave says:

Reminiscing! Farrell, did you or your parents listen to KOB in the car? I think that song was on heavy rotation, between the news and the traffic updates, well into the early ’90s.

  9. Dave says:

I got really excited when that song came on. Smearcase claims not to remember it as a specific song.

  10. Mister Smearcase says:

I remember it not as a song but a whole kind of song.
