As someone whose dream of leaving the land of sun and fun has recently been ramped up a notch or two, your depictions of winter wonderlands makes my heart ache even more. Your post captures the somber beauty of wintertime – the way sounds are muffled by winter coats and scarves, rolled-up car windows, and the snow under foot. Thanks.

However, Dave, the beauty of this for the most ADHD among us is the payoff: it's all pictures. This was super -- it really made me wish I could take good photos. And then arrange them to create a narrative thread. Alas . . .

Where was I? Oh yes, Farrell, do you think this could count as a whole post? Because then I could really feel part of The Great Whatsit community.

Loved this. It will come in handy in the sweltering months ahead. I remember seeing those goddamn Christo gates on the coldest day of the year.

But may I note in the kindest way possible that you all now have a perfect demonstration of why you should resize your photos before posting them to the blog! Large file sizes take a long time to load and can try the patience of even the least ADHD among us.
