So, when we left LA last week, here’s what it looked like:
Now, after a brief respite from water falling from the sky, we are in Massachusetts for… Snowpocalypse!:
Happy new year everyone! Hope your 2011 starts off with a bang!

it’s weird to think i grew up in a place where this happens somewhat frequently. i love how the snow paralyzes new york. good times!
Lovely pictures! Check out this time-lapse video of the snow accumulation Sunday night: http://vimeo.com/18213768
Also, Ellen took a picture of our back yard that’s on the NYT interactive feature at #683, http://www.flickr.com/photos/readin/5297101684/
Love that bird-bath pic, TMK. And yours are great, LP. Precipitation always adds something to the visual interest of a scene.
I flew into Boston last night. Crazy winds on the approach — I don’t usually get scared on airplanes, but, um, this time I did. There’s only a foot or so of snow on the ground in Cambridge, much less than in NY and NJ from what I hear. I’m about to venture out to the sporting-goods store in search of winter boots.
Wow! that’s so cool! (no pun intended). I have to say that I’m a bit envious of all youse that get to experience the snowpocalypse! Are all you east-coasters staying indoors or are you venturing out?
Indoors, mostly.
