It’s Saturday night. Friends are visiting, and you’ve all had dinner. Everybody’s too tired to go out anywhere, but not tired enough to call it an evening yet. What to do, what to do?
How about… a drinking game! Yeah! Woo-hooo! All right! It’s been a while since you played any kind of drinking game, but what the hey!
You recently received a gift from these very guests – a set of hollow ceramic Russian matryoshka dolls in different sizes. The game consists of (a) spinning a ceramic top to determine who must drink, then (b) filling one of the matryoshkas with vodka so the lucky / unlucky person can take a shot.
Except… vodka? Really? These matryoshkas seem quite… large to be drinking vodka out of them.
Gosh, we’ll be drunk in one round if we do that. That wouldn’t be fun. Hmmm…. what is to be done?
A-ha! We’ll pour beer into them! Then we can play a bunch of rounds without getting drunk! Yes! Here we go!
Hmm…. This doesn’t work so well. The carbonated beer just bubbles right out of those little dolls. There’s beer all over the table! What the – !
Ah, well. This is why paper towels were invented. Down the hatch, Timo!
And THAT is how you play a most excellent, super fun, unorthodox, totally wimpy drinking game.
Any questions?

I’m still drunk. heh-heh.
Huzzah for anyone keeping alive their youthful spunk! I always try to find someone (aka stodgy husband) to play my favorite drinking game on x-mas eve: you drink your bev of choice–usually beer or wine–everytime they say “who” during “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” It gets crazy toward the end, and the whole spectacle gets more amusing with age, somehow. Something to look forward to in a coupla months.
Next time, we use the hard stuff!
